Keeping Motor Trade Insurance Premiums Low
Whenever thinking about motor trade insurance, especially when it comes round to receiving a renewal quote in the post (or more like a myriad of quotes in the post from companies sensing an increase in your premiums) I always am left with an air of defeat; already waiting for the annual increase in price due to one thing or another.
Today I have decided to rebuke this acceptance of premium rises and seek out a means to not only keep my next insurance quote comparable to my current payment schedule but reduce the blow by lowering the monthly premiums.
O.k. so how am I going to do this when recent news release but several days ago form the Guardian highlighted average increases of 40% in motor insurance premiums associated with fraudulent claims?
Let me tell you how… By looking online; into blogs, article posts and general feedback from other likeminded individuals who have also decided to make a stand and seek out the best deal for them at this time of year when expenditure is always at a yearly peak.
If you are going to take one thing from my thoughts today think of the following:
- Review all the things that insurers ask you and look to maximise your saleability – if you only drive 3,000 miles a year tell them, if your car is now in a garage let them know and if you are driving a second car (i.e. are a named driver on your partners car) let them know – this can all assist your cause.
- This may not seem like good advice but, drive carefully; avoid self harm to your bank account by ensuring that you do not speed, do not make unneeded claims and if you are new to driving maybe take an advanced driving course which more often than not will give you a boost for no claims bonuses.
- If you have had a change in your circumstances, however irrelevant that may seem to your motor policy premiums, let the insurers know. You may receive discounts based on change of job titles, the need not to have commuting on your policy or the new job may deem you (ion the insurers eyes) as being a lower risk factor.
Take my advice, shop around and pick up the very best motor insurance quote that you can!
