In accordance with a newly released survey, IT contractors are dealing with extended freelance jobs for less money as opposed to freelance work that will pay more. Findings by the umbrella company Giant reveal that temporary IT workers are prioritising lengthy contracts that have a lower wage as compared to simple contracts that have better pay.

The research found out that 66% of those surveyed would turn down a higher paid job in favour of a less profitable engagement and so this means that that job security is essential during an uncertain climate. Only 34% accepted they would choose a better-paying contract and the vast majority report that timeframe is now being regarded more valuable than wage. If you have picked work that has a reduced wage, figure out what you will find yourself taking home with a take-home- pay calculator. And if you need any assistance with regards to IR35 law and regulations, your accountancy firm will be able to aid.

Further results show that less IT contractors are cutting back time without work. The research discovered 80% of IT freelancers invested 31 days or less in between contractors compared with 78% from the same time a year before. Furthermore, the retail sector increased its use of IT skills as it changes and channels investment into m-commerce systems. And 17% of the IT contractors surveyed work in the telecoms sector that is a 43% increase from the same time in 2011.

In case you are doing more and more work for one client, make sure keep things distinct since you may become in danger of becoming too concerned and attached with the firm. And due to the recent changes in IR35 guidelines, you have to be cautious to stand alone as a service provider and not be regarded as an employee. If you are dealing with agreements that are lengthier with the same operation, speak to an IR35 accountant right now to learn what it really means for your taxes.

Medieval Kings would send deliverymen on horseback to distant lands and pay them to do so – they weren’t called couriers back then but their job was fundamentally the same as the modern day white van man. Today, it is not Kings making the orders but us, the laypeople – with our phones!

It bodes well for the couriers, who are working in one of the few traditional industries which fit in with today’s internet driven world. The truth is, they don’t just ‘fit in’, they are absolutely essential – especially with the modern day customer’s expectancy to receive goods within 24 hours.

White Van Drivers

With a tarnished reputation for reckless driving and unprofessionalism, white van drivers are the bane of public motorists today. In reality, this status applies to very few courier drivers, which is unfortunate for the rest. Still, the thanklessness of carrying payloads up and down the country is accompanied by the potential to make a lot of money.

There is an obvious popularity attached to handheld gadgetry amongst 21st century civilisation and the size of these devices means independent drivers can transport hundreds at a time. However, the value of these products, when multiplied by hundreds, will usually add up to more than the driver’s insurance policy will cover.

There are insurance brokers out there who specialise in the acquisition of quality and cheap goods in transit insurance. Certain policies exclude things like ‘theft attractive items’ from the policy, so discussing your typical freight with the broker is essential to finding an adequate package.

Distribution Companies

There are a number of different worldwide distribution companies, who employ a massive amount of drivers to rapidly transport goods across continents. The requirement for such efficient delivery seems to have developed in correlation with the growing popularity of auctioning websites.

There is no strict stipulation on which products these companies will deliver (obviously nothing criminal) and for that reason, the diversity of different cargos can be huge. This means the businesses need a specialised insurance deal, to protect themselves against loss or damage to a huge range of product types.

Onboard Couriers

The most interesting delivery role in the industry has to be the ‘onboard courier’. These people will carry a product (or a load of products) through every stage of the transportation process – even onboard the plane/ship as it carries the customer’s purchase overseas.

This may seem like an unnecessary cost for the delivery companies but sometimes, this extra expense to ensure the product arrives safely and on time, every time, offsets the wages paid to the courier.

Goods in Transit Insurance

Speaking to a broker is to best way to get a ‘good enough’ insurance policy, which covers you for everything you need and excludes everything you don’t.

Studying the details of goods in transit insurance is highly advised before misinterpreting the protection as an unnecessary expenditure. The notion behind purchasing GIT insurances is akin to the ‘onboard courier’ situation – it just makes sense as the initial costs outweigh the consequences of a mistake.

Most ordinary people do not pay much attention to their insurance policies until something happens and a claim comes up. Like most of us they just make their premium payments and go on about their daily business. However, when something does happen, making a claim is not quite the piece of cake many would like to think. Insurance claims involve much more than what meets the eye.

If you are not careful your insurance company can walk all over you, figuratively speaking of course. This is when it will become especially necessary for you to know the difference between insurance Loss adjusters and insurance loss assessors. You see, one is going to have your best interest at heart whilst the other is going to try hard to make sure your insurance company is found favourable in the situation. You would be wise to pay attention and know the difference before taking on your insurance company.

Insurance loss adjusters, also simply called insurance adjusters are hired hands that work for your insurance company. They are not going to be on your side in a claim as it is their duty to see that the insurance company comes out smelling like a rose. Never allow yourself to be fooled into believing an insurance loss adjuster is thinking of what is best for you.

To the contrary, insurance loss assessors are professionally skilled individuals whom you hire to look out for your best interest during a claim. These people work for the insured, not the insurance companies. Insurance loss assessors can be found through companies like Salmon Assessors which provide representatives 24 hours a day, seven days a week.. They are highly experienced at representing people with insurance claims and being sure that everything is in order. If you are negotiating a claim then this is the type of worker you want to have on your side.

Back in the early part of 2011, Richard James, of Ledbury Taxi Service, told the Ledbury reporter of the difficulties he had been facing due to the price increases. He said: “I hope I can keep going because I’ve been doing this in Ledbury for 26 years. Business is still good for me and I do a lot of miles. Though you do find yourself working some serious hours and ending up with nowhere near what you used to earn. A lot more money is going in the fuel tank. It’s a struggle and people don’t realise what it does actually cost to do this job.”

If you are a taxi driver facing similar problems, you could look at cutting costs elsewhere. One other essential area where savings might be made is insurance. To get the best protection and a good deal you should look out for an insurance company with years of experience in the field, such as Staveley Head Minicab insurance. Specialist insurers often better understand the risks associated with running a taxi business and as such can better tailor a product to suit your needs.

According to the latest figures, fuel sales fell dramatically in 2011, with volumes for the first nine months of the year just tipping 13.9 billion litres – a fall of over one billion. In 2012, consumption is expected to continue to decline as motorists cut down on journeys or ditch the car altogether. One group that simply doesn’t have the choice of cutting back on fuel spending is taxi drivers, who increasingly find themselves battered by the fuel hikes and thus trying hard to stay afloat

Looking at the efficiency of your vehicle may also reap rewards. Simple measures such as servicing your car regularly and keeping your tyres pumped to the correct pressure can ensure you minimise your fuel consumption and keep costs down as much as possible.

What is motor trade insurance?
Motor trade insurance has been designed by insurance companies to provide people who earn money through, work with or repair anything which relates to cars, motorbikes and vans. There are many different forms of motor trade insurance, and the policies can cover anyone from a huge garage to a one man band, with many different types of motor trade insurance, and differing levels of cover within that policy.
Road Risk Only Motor Trade Insurance
There are three main types of road risk only motor trade insurance, which you will recognise from standard car insurance policies. Third party only motor trade insurance provides the owner of the policy with third party cover for injury, property and death of a third party as a result of an incident involving the vehicle connected to that customers business.
Third party fire and theft motor trade insurance adds fire and theft insurance of any vehicle connected to the customers business to the equation, and fully comprehensive motor trade insurance adds damage to the motor trade owner’s vehicle as a result of an accident.
Liability Motor Trade Insurance
Liability motor trade insurance adds insurance against liability to the general public, and is ideal for all businesses who work with the general public, or have them on their site at any time. This form of insurance is ideal for garages who fit or repair parts and cars, as well as any business that employs people.
You can get Employers liability cover, Defective workmanship liability cover or public liability cover, or any combination, or all three.
Combined Motor Trade Insurance
Combined motor trade insurance covers a business’s money, liabilities, premises, vehicles and the contents of all of those, and is the most extensive form of motor trade insurance a customer can buy.
This type of policy is typically taken out by a motor trade business, especially one with several employees, it’s own premises and one with contact with the general public. This sort of policy is ideal for tyre fitters, car mechanics, car parts selling businesses, and even companies who clean cars should take out a motor trade insurance policy.

In this article we will look at the best way of going about sourcing a cheap used car in Scotland.

Firstly you will need to do a little research about the kind of car that will be appropriate to your lifestyle. This is not always as straight forward as it seems and many people easily get carried away and fall in love with a car that is wholly unsuitable.

This happened to a buyer at a car dealer in Aberdeen. A woman was generally browsing the forecourt and she spotted a used Alfa Romeo Spider, the earlier model that ceased production in 2004. It was a beautiful yellow colour, in excellent condition and was on sale at a very attractive price. She simply fell in love with it and bought it on the spot. The dealer was able to make all the arrangements and accepted the car in which she had arrived in part exchange.

Thrilled with her new wheels she drove it home but when she arrived there she was greeted by the barking of her Golden Retriever. She had failed to consider her dog and despite her best efforts it was completely impossible for her to carry Rex in the car.

Somewhat upset she returned to the dealer who was very sympathetic and was happy to take back the Spider and replace it with a more suitable car (a Ford Focus). He didn’t even charge her for the inconvenience. Of course not everybody is lucky enough to find such a generous dealer as that one.

If you are looking for a used cars Aberdeen dealer seek help at Motors.co.uk. Once you have matched your needs to your desired car, you need to find a good deal that ideally does not involve you in travelling too far afield. Fortunately this car website specialises in finding cheap used car deals close to your own Scottish postal code.

It is not difficult to find an auto performance shop in your locality but the question is finding a good auto performance shop, on whose honesty you can rely upon. You are spending thousands of bucks on purchasing an auto part and you do not want to get cheated of your money.

Living in Edmonton search for reliable edmonton performance shops. Search over the internet but before placing your order learn about the performance of the that shop. If it is in your locality then you can ask the neighbors whether they have bought car parts from that shop and about their honesty in pricing of the product, quality of the products and after sales service.

Acquiring a mortgage is considered the single biggest responsibility a person will take on, and it shouldn’t be dealt with casually. Lending institutions many times put themselves at risk granting mortgages on homes, with the uncertainty of jobs in today’s economy. Taking on a mortgage is a life long commitment; some preparation needs to be made mentally and physically.
Credit score
The first thing that lending institutions normally check for is if you have good credit, this is essential when qualifying for a mortgage. Your lender would first check your credit score; this is a system where numbers are used to represent your credit history. Instead of going through scores of paperwork a number is assigned to you representing your credit history, and the lender then determines if this number is acceptable or not. A credit score is not the deciding factor in you getting approved for home loans. Every lending institution has different standards where credit scores are concerned; the decision lies with them. It is advisable to develop good borrowing habits, always pay loans on time. Try to be responsible with your finances.
Debt income ratio
The second most important thing is your income; they want to know if you can afford a mortgage and for how much. They would check to see what your debt income ratio is. Debt income ratio is a measurement of the percentage of your monthly gross income that covers your loan payment (monthly gross income is your monthly income before contributions and taxes). Another name for debt income ratio is front debt to income ratio, or front end ratios. This indicates to lenders what you can actually afford to pay monthly and from there calculate your entire loan amount. When calculating your debt income ratio lenders keep in mind that there are many other expenses. The figure representing the loan payment is normally kept to a minimum.
Housing expense ratio
Your housing expense ratio is basically the same as your debt income ratio; only difference is the loan payment would cover your entire housing expenses. Housing expenses include your principal, insurance, taxes and interest or for short (PITI). Lenders vary in how they do business, but overall they try to limit the risk of loan defaults by keeping loan payments below, for example, 30% of your income at the end of the month.
How to calculate your mortgage payments
Let’s say your lending institution calculates your housing expense ratio at 29%, your gross income is $3500, in order to qualify for a regular loan, your monthly payments which would include all your housing expenses, would not exceed $1,015.
There are several different types of loans, and each of them dictates a different housing expense ratio. For example, a lending institution might have the housing expense ratio for a FHA loan at 27%, for a VA loan it might be 20%.
These are the deciding factors in you getting the home you desire, or what you can actually afford.

Not helped by the unhelpful ‘sell em high, flog em cheap’ attitude of the people she went to lease from. My experience wasn’t bad at all, as I opted for Vauxhall car leasing and went to a local leasing broker who was an accredited BVRLA member. My boss ended up using the same company based on my glowing reference, and he opted for a Golf lease, which he got at a bargain with sign writing included!

All I can say is that an experience with car leasing can be brilliant if you choose wisely, and really decide what it is you’re looking for. If you want a cheap car with no frills, then that’s fine, but it’s important to recognise that when you need a car maintained or service you will be forking out more than if you got an all in one deal like I did. Why should you get an all in one package I hear you ask? With servicing, maintenance factored into a lease quote, it doesn’t usually come up to too much more, and there are many who say it’s been fully worth it for the fact that they can just drop their car in for a service without needing to fill in bundles of paper work or forms. Hassle free, easy transport. That’s what I like!

It used to be that the most common and popular way of acquiring a car was to purchase one outright and take ownership of the vehicle. In today’s current financial climate however, it’s much more beneficial to simply lease a car and make monthly payments. Out of all of the leasing options available at www.Askaprice.com – Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) is one of the most popular.

One of the most important steps in looking into PCP is to first acquire a quote. This can help you research the prices that you’ll have to pay as well as let you view the details of the contract you’ll be entering into. Points that are worth considering when negotiating your contract are:

- Contract length

- Annual mileage estimate

- Deposit value

- Finance amount

All of these factors contribute towards the interest rate that will be supplied by the finance provider. The finance provider will also estimate a guaranteed future value (GFV) – this GFV takes into account a variety of details that they can use to figure out how much the vehicle will eventually be worth. To do this the details they use include:

- Age of the car at end of term

- Depreciation

- Estimated annual mileage

If you’re satisfied with the PCP contract that you’re entering into then a small deposit is required, after that monthly payments are made. At the end of your contract there are two options for you to take. You can take ownership of the vehicle by making a lump sum payment (equivalent to the projected future value), or use the difference between the actual cars value and the GFV to actually acquire a new car.

PCP is an immensely beneficial deal and hopefully after reading this you feel a little more confident on the subject, as well as knowing if it’s the right option for you.
