Motor Trade Insurance
What is motor trade insurance?
Motor trade insurance has been designed by insurance companies to provide people who earn money through, work with or repair anything which relates to cars, motorbikes and vans. There are many different forms of motor trade insurance, and the policies can cover anyone from a huge garage to a one man band, with many different types of motor trade insurance, and differing levels of cover within that policy.
Road Risk Only Motor Trade Insurance
There are three main types of road risk only motor trade insurance, which you will recognise from standard car insurance policies. Third party only motor trade insurance provides the owner of the policy with third party cover for injury, property and death of a third party as a result of an incident involving the vehicle connected to that customers business.
Third party fire and theft motor trade insurance adds fire and theft insurance of any vehicle connected to the customers business to the equation, and fully comprehensive motor trade insurance adds damage to the motor trade owner’s vehicle as a result of an accident.
Liability Motor Trade Insurance
Liability motor trade insurance adds insurance against liability to the general public, and is ideal for all businesses who work with the general public, or have them on their site at any time. This form of insurance is ideal for garages who fit or repair parts and cars, as well as any business that employs people.
You can get Employers liability cover, Defective workmanship liability cover or public liability cover, or any combination, or all three.
Combined Motor Trade Insurance
Combined motor trade insurance covers a business’s money, liabilities, premises, vehicles and the contents of all of those, and is the most extensive form of motor trade insurance a customer can buy.
This type of policy is typically taken out by a motor trade business, especially one with several employees, it’s own premises and one with contact with the general public. This sort of policy is ideal for tyre fitters, car mechanics, car parts selling businesses, and even companies who clean cars should take out a motor trade insurance policy.
